The Power of Forgiveness: My Walk with the Holy Spirit

I pray you woke up feeling blessed, if for nothing else, let us be grateful for one more day. And you might even be grateful that you didn’t wake up to bad news and that no bad news will find you and disturb your peace of mind today.

Today, I want to share with you my walk with the Holy Spirit over the last five months. On Oct. 16th, 2022, at 1:49 pm, I can say with certainty that the Holy Spirit was activated in my life and speaking to me with clarity. Since that day, I have made a commitment to give a year of my life to Him, surrendering all my problems, doubts, and pain to His care. My objective within this year is to also share with you this journey, whatever this may be. The good, and the bad, the Holy Spirit working through me and me just in my flesh.

Let me just rewind just a little bit cause before making this commitment it seemed like those who called themselves Christians were in a spiritual and worldly struggle. However, despite the struggles of those closest to God, I chose to focus on the Lord and lend Him my ear. This was not an easy journey, but with the help of the Holy Spirit, I have been able to wake up early, spend time in the Word, attend church regularly, and even fasted for 21 days. While things may not always be perfect, my attitude towards difficult situations has improved greatly.

Through my walk with the Holy Spirit, I have learned the importance of forgiveness and letting go of any hurt I may feel towards others. The devil wants us to hold on to anger and bitterness, but the Holy Spirit reminds us to accept people for who they are and to love them in spite of their flaws. It is also important to listen and be there for those who are struggling with trauma, without imposing our own experiences or solutions. Come on some of y’all are mad at your mother because you felt like she could have been a better mother, and whether that's true or not I gareeruntee the angry your holding on to is hindering the relationship you could have now as mother and daughter. Y'all know how much I love my mother but if I held on to the anger I had when I was a teenager she would probably still be the enemy in my eyes instead of my best friend. You know you can’t change the past but you can create a better future.

I pray if your holding on to past hurt, anger, find yourself in depression because some one did love you the way you needed, let go and let God heal your heart. And when you do that I promise you no one will be able to love you more than you can love yourself.

I am grateful for the changes I have seen in my life since Oct. 16th, 2022. My father's case has finally reached the Superior Courts, my documentary, music, and second book are all on the horizon. Through the ups and downs, I feel blessed and at peace, even in the midst of my storms. My walk with the Lord has not made me perfect, but it has made me more obedient, filled with love and peace.

Five Tips To Drawing Closer To The Holy Spirit

  1. Spend time in prayer and meditation: Set aside time each day to pray and meditate on God's word. This will help you clear your mind and focus on the Holy Spirit, allowing you to hear His voice more clearly.

  2. Read and study the Bible: The Bible is the source of truth and wisdom that will help you understand the Holy Spirit's leading in your life. Make it a habit to read and study scripture regularly, and let the Holy Spirit guide you as you seek to understand its teachings.

  3. Surrender your life to the Lord: Let go of your worries, fears, and control, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in all things. This means putting your faith in God and trusting Him to lead you where He wants you to go.

  4. Practice forgiveness: Forgiveness is a key aspect of drawing closer to the Holy Spirit. Let go of any anger, bitterness, or resentment you may be holding onto and choose to forgive others who have hurt you. This will help you walk in love and peace, and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life more freely.

  5. Serve others: The Holy Spirit leads us to serve others, so make it a priority to find ways to serve those around you. This can be through volunteering, helping a neighbor, or simply reaching out to someone in need. When we serve others, we are drawing closer to the Holy Spirit and living out His love in a tangible way.
